Model 7200 HCLT
High Capacity Lumber Tester
The Metriguard Model 7200 High Capacity Lumber Tester is certified by
grading agencies around the world. EC conformance is available.
This is the world wide machine of
choice for high capacity, high yield production of MSR, MEL, MSG, MGP and E-Rated Lumber
grades.
The Model 7200 has something for everybody
The following features include standard items as well as
improvements we have made in this equipment over the past couple of years.
For the CEO --
Ø Highest grade yields and net profit in all classifications of machine graded lumber
Ø Lowest production cost
Ø Entry into growing half-billion dollar market
Ø Excellent value-added potential
For the Production Manager --
Ø Lumber tunnel design with more
driven rollers -- 10 to 1 Fewer plug-ups and less down-time
Ø Rugged, mill-worthy construction
Ø Modern Windows computer data processor New PC Data System 2 Software
Full range of marking capabilities and shift reports
Automatic calibration records
Unlimited number of size/grade combinations in configuration set-up
files
Data recording for diagnostics and research
Wood temperature compensation now available
Quick calibrations
Real-time serial E output -- Now you can
do cut-in-two to capture higher yields (additional equipment required)
Quick-disconnect photosensors for easier
maintenance
grade mark at adjustable intervals along
the length of the piece -- Now visual graders can mark where to trim to improve value
real-time load cell & accelerometer
display for each piece while running
on-line help menu
higher speed processor
larger hard disk drive
Windows(R) operating system
Run History table shows E of last 10
pieces graded
displays bar graph of your grade yields
-- Visually tells you how you are doing
displays the mean and average Es for each
grade -- a mean for each grade is displayed as an on-screen tally table
Improved calibration -- Easier for
operator to calibrate
Simple file backup procedure -- single
click
Improved calibration logging -- Graphical
format shows trends and helps diagnose problems
network connection -- allows the computer
to operate in your local area network
remote access (PC Anywhere, NetMeeting)
-- Remote troubleshooting

For the Lumber User --
Ø Reduce your repair costs
Ø 35 years of proven MSR lumber performance
Ø Testing under bending stress
eliminates low-strength pieces at the mill
and keeps them OUT of your products
Ø Effective sorting response to grain
angle, fibril angle and moisture content
Speed
Speed capacity is unknown. We have run tests in
excess of 2,000 ft/min, and have not hit any limitations or indications that
would prevent even higher speeds. We expect this machine to keep up with planer
developments and run in the neighborhood of 3,000 ft/min within the next ten years.
Options
The machine is available with a number of options, including the
recently introduced PC Data System, which adds new capability in marking options, shift
reports, internal error checking and automatic zero tracking. Motor options include
feedback-controlled drives for close-coupling with a planer, metric motors and standard
industrial motors for any world-wide electric power source. Currently under
development in Metriguard's program of continuous improvement are automatic wood
temperature compensation and scanner inputs.
Standard features include stainless steel shafts, precision chrome
surface rollers, simple "hand" reversal, easy access to adjustments, simple
maintenance, and full guards & covers.
Metriguard added a new roller positioning mechanism for fine-tuning the mechanical
system in early 1999. This differential-screw device is used in both bending test
spans to provide extremely fine adjustment of the load roller position. Upgrade kits
are available. Please contact our sales office for further details.
